Helen is Gone: Now Maybe The Eight-Day Clock Can Tick Again

In Disappearing Ink on 10/06/2010 at 06:08

In her sixty plus year Helen hasn’t had an objective opinion on anything, and especially not on Israel. Helen is an Arab and she hates Israel.

Talent hasn’t ever been a big issue with Helen, she has little, but her politics made her the perfect mascot for the elite media at the presidential mansion. How does a press secretary gun the gas pedal and put tire tracks up the back of a little old lady who looks like your–well someone’s–grandmother? Her status as the “First Lady” of the Washington press corps was achieved the old fashioned way: she outlived the rest.

Over the course of America’s war with Islam Helen has repeated given aid and comfort to our enemies and undermined our CIA’s efforts to obtain intelligence that will stop at nothing to destroy us.

During her six decades in Washington Thomas has leveled unsubstantiated charges at anyone who has dared to be descent in the face of the rampant decline of decency and decried traditional American values. She has been responsible–as have many in the Washington Press Corps–for the lives of U.S. soldiers and CIA operatives on the field of battle. Helen hates traditional America.

But this week Helen blew it big time. She is anti Semitic and she has finally copped to it.

That and only that is the reason Hearst Newspapers gave her the boot, not because she is anti-Semitic mind you, but because the entire industry is rife with Jew haters and Helen inadvertently ratted them out.

“They are occupied,” Helen said of the Palestinians, a people that did not exist in history prior to the 20th century.

Where have we heard that term before? Occupied. We have heard it every night on news broadcasts since Israeli’s took back the West Bank, the Golan Heights and the Gaza Strip in 1967. Bethlehem is considered occupied territory, a town that has held enormous historical significance to Jews for 4,000 years, and to Christians for 2,000. It is the City of David. Jericho is also occupied. Tell me what right Muslims have to these cities in history?

The United Nations established Israel’s boundaries from a 1917 League of Nations covenant, and says the Golan Heights, Gaza and the West Bank belong to the Palestinians. And because the UN says it Helen believes it.

Helen issued an apology after the fact for her hateful remarks against Israel and the Jewish people:

I deeply regret my comments I made last week regarding the Israelis and the Palestinians. They do not reflect my heart-felt belief that peace will come to the Middle East only when all parties recognize the need for mutual respect and tolerance. May that day come soon.

Right. File that in the same can you used for Jane Fonda’s Vietnam apology.

I suppose I should take no pleasure in the downfall of another human being, but in Helen’s case I’ll make an exception. When I think of the thousands of boys who died in Vietnam while she slandered them in her columns, when I think of the dead CIA agents she helped put in their graves, when I think of the 2,000-year plight of Jews around the world to regain their homeland, I take great pleasure in dumping on Helen Thomas.

Goodbye, Helen, maybe Jake Tapper will miss you, but we will not. You were a hack.

The Obama-Holder Connection: Social Justice, or Just Old Fashioned Anti-Semitism?

In The Enemy Among Us on 03/03/2010 at 08:26

In the summer of 2008, when the nation first learned of Barack Obama’s longtime association with Reverend Jeremiah Wright, the next question was obvious. Does Obama share Wright’s anti-Semitic views?

Largely due to a media that was unabashedly working as the public relations arm of his campaign, then Senator Obama was given a pass on his 20-year connection with Wright, and by association, Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan. Some spoke up; most did not.

Within months of taking office the President snubbed Israel, our only true friend in the Middle East, and embarked on an apology lap to the Islamic world.

If all of that weren’t enough, the appointment of Eric Holder as Attorney General should prove that this President has even greater empathy for radical Islam than previously thought. This week Holder revealed Obama DOJ appointments of nine men who have been instrumental in the defense of Guantanamo terror detainees. Five have directly represented terror, and one defended Osama bin Laden’s driver.

Will the President and General Holder never take the right side in this war on radical Islam? George Bush buckled under pressure during the final years of his presidency in releasing GITMO detainees to return to the field of battle. But Barack Obama, and by extension Eric Holder, seem anxious to provide defense to America’s worst enemies in decades.

From his appointment of Holder, to the recent tapping of Rashad Hussain as envoy to the Muslim world, Obama’s affinity for Islamic causes has become clearer with each step. And now the revelation of nine Justice Department lawyers in GITMO defense cases raises serious questions. Are our children risking their lives in Afghanistan for nothing? Every detainee released from Guantanamo is a potential death sentence for GIs and marines.

American Jews voted for this president in droves, yet he has repeatedly slapped them in the face by supporting an enemy sworn to their destruction. One cannot help but wonder if Jeremiah Wright’s anti-Semitic and pro-Muslim views are at work here.

Barack Obama’s cooling of relations with Israel at a time when the partnership of our two nations could not be more critical is shocking and appalling. America cannot afford to waste one resource in this war – and Israel is a vital partner – because our enemy is cunningly resourceful.

I have great faith in the American people to speak up in the face injustice, and the injustice here is to our own interests. Loving one’s enemies is a virtue, but having blatant disregard for one’s own is shameful.

So, Joe, Who’s The Real Nutter?

In Disappearing Ink on 03/02/2010 at 08:34

Time Magazine columnist Joe Klein’s appearance last night on the O’Reilly Factor was a priceless exhibition of modern elitism in American media. It should be taped and shown to every journalism student in the country as an example of how to be clueless in the face of a catastrophic circulation dip.

Time should fire the guy. Not for what he said last night, but on general principals. He’s a complete whack job.

Klein, who some may remember as the guy who wrote the roman à clefPrimary Colors” anonymously, lying to his colleagues when they outted him, and revealing information shared in confidence during the Bill Clinton Campaign, added to his shabby reputation, employing another incredibly brilliantly lowbrow tactic: Infiltrate the enemy camp, take their money, see if they’ll offer you a contributor job, and bash Glenn Beck. Smarter than your average lefty media guy, Anonymous Joe. Well, at least he didn’t wear one of those tweed jackets with the obligatorily clashing plaid shirt and striped tie.

Last night Klein epitomized the worst of liberal journalism when he called Glenn Beck a 21st century Father Coughlin. Father Coughlin, for those of you don’t know, was a controversial Roman Catholic priest who was enormously popular in the 1930s. Klein’s reference to him was probably twofold. First, Coughlin was a Roosevelt supporter who eventually turned against FDR’s policies, an unpardonable sin in leftist circles.

However, at the heart of Klein’s attack on Beck was the fact that Coughlin was an Anti-Semite. Now, liberals are always quick to say – as did Klein – when making such comparisons, that they’re not calling their target a racist, but why else would they say it? Coughlin’s hatred was for Jews and communists. So what is Joe suggesting? That Beck’s disdain for socialism makes him tantamount to Coughlin?

So, once again, Joe Klein has proved himself to be a liar and disseminator of mis- and disinformation. This kind of liberal-speak is the worst kind of yellow journalism because it is not only untruthful, but it is intended to get advertisers to drop Beck’s program, to strike at his livelihood. I’ve included an old Reuters story here to prove my point. The story was a direct result of the liberal media’s attack, after Beck accused Barack Obama of being a racist. Following Joe’s reasoning, Beck is no worse than he.

Joe Klein isn’t the first to try to hang the Father Coughlin jacket on Beck, Rush Limbaugh and other members of the conservative media, but he is an outstanding example of why the liberal media is going broke.
