Obama Amnesty: Mexican Roulette?

Moderate Democrats in congress may just have created a monster they cannot live with. What some still don’t realize is that when Obama said he would “fundamentally transform America,” he wasn’t limiting himself to healthcare and cap-and-trade. He wants it all.

Amnesty is an issue where he is assured of bipartisan support. John McCain, Lindsey Graham and myriad other Republicans will join the President in rewarding illegals with legal status and rapid citizenship.

Barack Obama is an open-borders liberal. He and a slew of Democrats and all too many Republicans want to sweep the issue under the carpet and, sometime in the near future, Barack will introduce what will amount to a blanket amnesty bill. And it raises very real security concerns.

Islam is gaining a serious foothold among Indian tribes in Southern Mexico and there are already more than 25,000 others in the country. It would be foolhardy to believe that some are not radicalized, and more foolish yet to think that they have not helped jihadists gain entrance into the US.

Currently, many illegals are already gaining legal status in the US by using generic names and purloined birth certificates. A few years ago my wife and I were fooled into hiring a housekeeper who had gained entrance into the country in just that way. That illegal is eligible to vote.

If that young woman can gain legal status, virtually anyone can. Her English was negligible but drivers licenses and birth certificates don’t lie. Right? Does anyone really believe Al-Qaeda will not use an asset like that?

Our borders are porous, and there has never been a time in the nation’s history when it has been more critical that we identify every person residing within the boundaries of the US.

In the first months of 2010, Texas governor Rick Perry requested Predator drones something that should have been in place years ago – to patrol the US-Mexico border. Janet Napolitano has been slow to act but it may be too little too late.

In the wake of the 9-11 attacks George W. Bush failed to secure the borders. Cargo containers entering the country from foreign nations are woefully under inspected, and the Obama administration has done little to improve the situation.

Americans had no idea how much danger they were in, when they went to bed on 9-10-2001. If our borders are not secured soon, we could have a disastrous replay of those monstrous events.

Amnesty is bad idea anytime. To reward illegal behavior flies in the face of everything good about immigration to this wonderful country, but right now – especially with unsecured borders – it is tantamount to national suicide.

  1. Does Mc Cain not realize why the liberals want amnesty? It’s VOTES Mc Cain!!!!
I hope we can vote out these liberal Republicans
You are right about our pourous borders. i was very upset with Bush’s lack of border control. I wrote several times and i got 2 notes back from his handlers and they were quick to tell me that the pres. wasn’t in favor of amnesty….really?

  2. I have never understood what Republicans think they stand to gain. All of my Hispanic friends are vehemently against illegal immigration and want tight border security. Open borders benefit Democrats politically but are a serious danger to us all.
