Predictions For 2010

In Palinography, Sarah Palin, The Way Far Right on 02/01/2010 at 02:40

WE PIK-U-KLIK HEADLINES BELOW

Sarah Palin will debut a television and possibly a radio talk show in the spring of 2010. This is going out on a limb, but I predict that MSNBC will float a seven-figure offer, in order to both boost its ratings and neutralize her as a potential nominee in 2012. Palin’s support for John McCain in 2010 will hurt her with her conservative base.

Hillary Clinton will resign as Secretary of State and begin building a war chest for a possible 2012 presidential challenge. She will move drastically to the center on both foreign and domestic policy. Bill and Hillary will be Mr. and Mrs. Conservative.

In the 2010 Senate Race, Republicans will have a net gain of four seats; Harry Reid will be defeated in Nevada, Chris Dodd will go down in Connecticut, and Boxer in California. The House will suffer heavy Democrat casualties; I predict a significant increase for the GOP but not a majority.

Unemployment will rise and the figures will stabilize at around seven percent, not good for Obama, but not nearly bad enough to create a rout in the House or Senate. The economy will remain sluggish with slight improvements, and Obama will move to introduce tax-cut legislation.

Health Care will pass and we will see the House move to slowly lay the groundwork for a true public option this year, with some Republican support. Cap-and-trade will die in both houses but Obama will continue radical regulatory implementation of his energy policies through the EPA.

As conservative criticism mounts against Obama, look for the “race card” to be played in a big way – attacks on conservative talk will begin in earnest. In an attempt to gain outright control of national media outlets, Obama will introduce subsidy bills to prop up flagging major daily newspapers, and his FCC will push local-carry-programming regulations for radio, making it increasingly less attractive for corporate broadcasters to air conservative talk shows. The result will be a heavy lean toward a Fleet Street-type media.

Sharper divisions will arise in the DNC as the elections approach, but Republicans will get cocky and be disappointed by the final election results.

Ginsberg will retire from the Supreme Court and Obama will make another outrageously liberal appointment to the high bench, which will sale through with some GOP support.

Obama will introduce legislation to grant amnesty to illegals, which will create a Gold-Rush-like run to the North from Mexico, bringing a large influx of illegals into the country, many of whom have been here off and on for the last 10 years. Citizenship drives for illegals by national organizations like ACORN and La Raza will be scandalous – literally. I may be a little out front on this, but look for it by the end of 2010.

Terrorists will launch a major offensive on U.S. soil in 2010. It will come either in the form of a rapid series of small but effective attacks, like we saw at Fort Hood this year, or with one devastating blow, this time on the West Coast. New and innovative suicide attacks will be launched in Europe and America; here they will occur in areas of high congestion, such as theme parks and stadiums. Iran will make giant strides in obtaining a nuclear weapon with virtually no resistance from the Obama Administration.
