The Enemy We Know

In The Enemy Among Us on 06/11/2009 at 03:26

Today, at Fort Hood, near Austin, Texas, our enemy showed his face and he is us.

It appears at the time of this writing, that U.S. Army Major Nadal Malik Hasan opened fire on fellow soldiers and brought the bloody carnage of war to America’s shores once again. The Major, a convert of Islam, was successful in his homicide mission. He murdered at least 12 fellow soldiers and wounded 31 others. Reuters is reporting at this hour that Hasan survived the incident and is in stable condition.

The most fundamental rule of warfare, it seems to me, is to accurately identify your enemy. That being the case—and I’m more than certain it is, for how can one wage an effective war without knowing one’s enemy?—then in the aftermath of the 9-11 attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon, the United States failed in that duty.

I understand President Bush’s reluctance to announce that we were at war with Islam, virtually every civil rights group and the media would have immediately come out with the race bait. But to declare “War on Terror” was one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever heard from the lips of an American president.

There are in this world Hindu terrorists, African terrorists, Jewish and Christian radicals, and other terrorists of every nationality under the sun, none of whom attacked the United States of America on September 11, 2001.

We are at war with radical sects of Islam bent on destroying us. Only us and Israel. You see they know their enemy.

On December 7, 1941, the Empire of Japan declared war on the United States; four days later Adolf Hitler followed suit. Not every Japanese or every German in those countries supported those declarations, but that didn’t matter; we were at war with Germany and Japan.

We are at war with Islam. Not every Muslim, to be certain, but nevertheless with Islam. In the coming days every news outlet in America will entertain Islamic guests who will warn us not to assume that all Muslims are responsible for the actions of others. I don’t care. We will be told that this was an isolated incident. I don’t care. Liberal pundits will say either the Army or his peers persecuted Hasan. I don’t care. Still others will tell us Hasan was mentally unstable. How mentally stable were the 19 hijackers who killed thousands of Americans on September 11, 2001? I don’t care. If you are Muslim, until we determine your desire on us, we are at war with you.

Twenty-five hundred years ago in The Art of War, Sun Tzu said: “If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

It is clear to me that America does not know her enemy. And tonight I wonder if we will ever learn?

  1. I am counting on you to give me a level-headed approach. Keep up the hard work!

  2. Don’t you think they know more then they let us believe..
In France they are scare of them so they the Muslims are at liberty to imposed their way of living to the French
    people..I believe it is why
the French were not too cooperating in sending soldiers. It is their way,Let’s scare people so we can take over.Governments should have stop the Immigration-why they opened the door don’t you think they didn’t know of them?…

  3. Lately Hannity asked some people on the street (they seem to be from 35 to 45 years of age.)
Who was the Vice-President and Nancy Pelosi…Not one knew it and didn’t ever heard these names ever when they told them it was Biden and the Speaker of the House…I was shock!.
But…they all knew who was Obama!

I must have succeeded somewhere because my children would have answer these questions and more..
Many don’t even know where is Quebec! What shocked me even more they are not interested in knowing, that makes me mad.
BUT…Ask them which Actor or Actrice divorced lately..
who was arrested for drug possession, they won’t hesitate at all to give the answers.

Apparently a President is always afraid to be voted out of the Office. If the People fear the Government it is tyranny.
If the Government fear the People it is Liberty. Let’s not forget this.
