Breaking: Jared Lee Loughner Interned at NBC!

In Civil Lefts, Disappearing Ink, Sarah Palin, The Haters on 11/01/2011 at 20:44

TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) – Jared Lee Loughner, the accused gunman in the attempted assassination of Rep. Gabrielle Giffords and the deaths of six innocent bystanders in Tucson, worked for NBC last summer during the Tea Party uprisings in Phoenix and Tucson. Loughner wounded 12 others in the attack.

While management at NBC’s New York offices have not responded to calls from the Associated Press this morning, sources close to the FBI investigation into the Arizona shooting say Loughner was a “gofer-type” employee whose primary duties included helping camera operators and sound technicians in the Phoenix/Tucson area.

“We all thought Jared was so cool,” said one NBC employee speaking on condition of anonymity. “He did a spot-on impersonation of George Soros.” The employee, who described herself as an associate producer/La Raza executive board member, said Loughner left his job at the network because of what he described as a “media conspiracy to improperly conjugate verbs.”

FBI sources say that the alleged gunman is not cooperating with investigators, but that he has asked them to deliver a message to NBC vice president in charge of cable programming. NBC management refused to reveal the contents of the message, but anonymous sources have informed AP that the alleged gunman was disturbed with MSNBC’s coverage of the shooting and with Keith Olbermann’s grammar.

There is no evidence to suggest that Loughner was tied to an alleged MSNBC plot to kill members of congress and pin them on Sarah Palin and Rush Limbaugh, but tension has been running high at the NBC cable news outlet over flagging ratings.

Just kidding.

We thought that, since the liberal media is creating news out of whole cloth to capture ratings, that we would try it. Our apologies to the Associated Press and NBC for using their trademarks in posting this blog. You guys can take a joke, right?

The GOP Media Deficit

In Can You Hear Me Now?, Disappearing Ink, Obamarama on 28/12/2010 at 07:22

If there is one thing you have to hand to the Democrats it’s that they don’t give up. While Republicans are out doing their victory laps, before most of the landslide winners have moved into their offices in the Capitol, the Dems are already launching the media campaign to broad brush them as heartless, narrow-thinking, homophobic, racist—excuse me, racial—sexist and just plain unhip.

Of course the media are willing players in this age-old battle of ideas and the Left is masterful in using it to disseminate its message. There was a time when the public could rely on unbiased coverage, but almost no one is alive who will remember it.

Look at this AP story (via Breitbart) from this morning:

In a matter of weeks, Congress will go from trying to help young, illegal immigrants become legal to debating whether children born to parents who are in the country illegally should continue to enjoy automatic U.S. citizenship. Such a hardened approach

‘Nuff said there.

This one is from yesterday’s New York Times, in a story about the end-of-life panels the Obama Administration is trying to slip through during the transition of power.

A recent poll by the Kaiser Family Foundation suggests that the idea of death panels persists. In the September poll, 30 percent of Americans 65 and older said the new health care law allowed a government panel to make decisions about end-of-life care for people on Medicare. The law has no such provision.

But of course there is now such a provision. Whether end-of-life counseling, medication rationing or simply making a choice in physicians, every aspect of your health maintenance will shortly be controlled by one or more panel of government bureaucrats who will have a final say on your future. Which amounts to what Sarah Palin infamously dubbed, “death panels.”

But if you’re a news junkie you have to appreciate the tactical deftness with which the Left demonizes and marginalizes the conservative message. Take a look at this headline from Newsweek on the Kagan appointment last year:

Left Wing: How Rupert Murdoch Controlled Liberal Media This Week.

As though the Fox News Network has somehow leveled the playing field with the megalithic Western media. Notice lower on the same page, on the right, a photo of John Boehner over the caption: “The Year’s Biggest Political Lies,” which takes us to, “The ‘Government Takeover’ of Health Care, and Other Whoppers”.

Okay, none of this should come as a surprise to anyone with even a slight grasp of current events, but the problem this time, and for the remaining two years of Obama’s term, is more serious than in past decades.

This time the Republicans must win the media war, and droning out the same tired rhetoric the GOP leadership has used for decades will not accomplish the task. At stake this time is the future of the Republic. Literally. If Barack Obama is allowed to reinvent himself as a moderate in the remaining two years of his term, he will be reelected, and, if he is reelected, the damage he will do to the nation is incomprehensible.

Sarah Palin, Mike Huckabee, Jim DeMint and a few other national conservative figures have caught the public’s attention for one reason. They have departed from political-speak and spoken to the American public like they are actually part of it, which of course they should be. Palin may be criticized for her lack of astute political perception, but when she speaks absolutely no one is left wondering what she has said.

In order to win the media war against the Democrats, GOP leadership must first understand that they are fighting for all the marbles. The Left has taken off the gloves; it’s time Republicans do the same. To regain the people’s trust the GOP must reach out to the moving wing of their party—the Palins, Huckabees and DeMints—or they will lose their party, if not the nation.

Arizona, Amnesty, Obama and La Raza

In The Wrong Right Turn, Weekly Rant on 25/04/2010 at 08:10

Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor La Raza Member

The left has owned the immigration debate for years. It shows in every story the print and electronic media run on the subject. They have shaped the vernacular and framed the issue in terms that suit their bias.

The first way we can know this is by the misnomer itself. The influx of millions of illegals – largely across the Southern borders – has nothing to do with immigration.

It has to do with interloping. Trespassing.

Yet the media quickly seized the initiative by employing the “immigration” banner, as though this were all some kind of bureaucratic snafu, and they have continued the deception by using terms such as “alien” and “undocumented” to soften the idea in public perception.

It worked tremendously. I don’t know about you, but I have known dozens of illegals over the years, and my experience with them has been for the most part positive. One of my dearest friends began his life in the U.S. as an illegal and today owns a successful restaurant. But hundreds if not thousands of Hispanics die each year trying to enter the U.S.

One of the great tragedies of the Reagan administration was his Amnesty Bill. The Amnesty wasn’t in itself a bad idea but not building up the INS and the Border Patrol to deal with future interlopers has proved disastrous.

The government since that time has continued to fail both the American people and the millions Mexicans and South Americans who have come here to feed their families. And no one has easy answers.

I believe that Arizona will eventually lose this battle when it is finally taken up, as it surely will be, by the Supreme Court. Probably the better strategy would have been for Arizona join with other willing states and entities in a class action against the U.S. Government. I’m not a lawyer and I don’t know.

What I do know is that Barack Obama has been cutting industries and issues out of the heard and ceasing power unlike any President in U.S. history, and he is on “immigration” like a flea on a birddog.

The Arizona law is absolutely right. It merely extends authority to Arizona law enforcement to implement the statutes that the federal government has been remiss in carrying out.

Arizonans feel helpless. The state legislature has every right to cut off resources and employment to illegals. People are dying and Arizona has an enormous related crime problem.

But the issue is complicated. What about the citizen children born to these illegal parents? Do they also return to the parents’ country of origin? Not so fast. Like it or not they are citizens of the United States.

In passing this bill, Arizona has handed Barack Obama his next “crisis.” He will use the sword with relish.

In the coming months (and summer is on us) leftist front groups like La Raza will mobilize and I will not be surprised to see riots as the fervor ramps up. We all need to remember this when we vote, not only in the next two elections, but also as a life lesson.
