Rick Sanchez: A Lesson in the Politics of Progressivism

A year ago, almost to the day, CNN’s Rick Sanchez quoted Rush Limbaugh as making a racially tinged remark that the conservative talk show giant did not make. This, at the time, the latest in a long list of left wing allegations of racial misconduct against anyone with the audacity to be conservative in the media.

This society has a racial word-policing policy so incredibly neurotic that we now have to refer to chiggers as chigros. I mean, if this keeps up Latvians will have to petition the NAACP for representation.

I don’t know what is in the water in New York that seemingly makes journalists like Sanchez, who hails from the only illegal minority in America that ICE should be welcoming with open arms, go nutso liberal. Sanchez is a Cuban American and the reason his family is here in the first place is because JFK was too busy bonking Blaze Starr in the White House closet to give Cuban resistance fighters air support at the Bay of Pigs.

All of this being said, I don’t understand why CNN fired Sanchez yesterday. The official line is that the former host of CNN’s runaway ratings tanker “Rick’s List” called Comedy Central’s “Daily Show” host Jon Stewart a bigot. Huh? I know Jon Stewart walks across the East River on his way to work everyday, but I wasn’t aware that the “Jewish management” at CNN believed he was the Messiah.

Therein, of course, is the real reason Sanchez got the axe. In his ill-advised rant on a radio talk show on Thursday, the erstwhile talk non-sensation tempted the media gods by saying that Jon Stewart was just like them. And with Stewart’s bad hair who can blame them?

Or was it because Sanchez in the same diatribe dared say that: “He’s [Stewart] upset that someone of my ilk is almost at his level,” which is certainly news media sacrilege. What ilk? Why Hispanic American ilk, of course.

Okay, seriously, what was Rick Sanchez saying? He was saying that his personal minority is the minority de jour of the moment and that Jon Stewart and the CNN management (whom he perceives as being universally Jewish) have no right to claim 4,000 years of anti-Semitism in the face of the overwhelming oppression of Hispanics. Not that anyone is claiming that at all.

Question: Did this guy even attend a history class at the University of Minnesota? Memo to Rick: Hitler exterminated six million Jews! The U.S. government is installing rest stops in the Arizona desert to facilitate Hispanics while sneaking into the country.

All of this is case-in-point for a very good argument: Liberal’s are the quintessential racists in our society. They are the first to pile on when someone like Don Imus or Laura Schlessinger dare repeat an Ebonic epithet or when Rush Limbaugh airs an honest opinion about NFL political correctness concerning Donovan McNabb. Yet they turn their heads when young blacks use the N-word. Why? Because blacks are too unsophisticated to understand that the word is on the “Do Not Use List.”

Maybe Sanchez will now take some time to rethink his liberal racial bias. Then again, maybe Barack Obama will hire him as a liaison to La Raza.

Profile, Baby, Profile

The suspension of six San Francisco Bay Area high school students for wearing American flag tee shirts on Cinco de Bye-Bye-O proves once and for all that profiling works.

The boys were white, the shirts were Old Navy, and … What? They didn’t join in to sing “La Bamba?” Somebody call Al Sharpton. Extradite these miscreants to Guadalajara. Next thing you know their fathers will be buying them guns for graduation. And you know what that leads to—Tea Parties. Next stop Oklahoma City, and Kaboom!

Every veteran and every taxpayer within driving distance should be storming the steps of that school tomorrow.

What the hell is this place coming to? This week the media are in a feeding frenzy because Sarah Palin dared mention that America is a Christian nation. This to the astonishment of Newsweek Magazine (which, incidentally, the Washington Post can’t sell for scrap paper) columnist David Waters.

The Democrats historically have been able to turn over a rock somewhere and find a cowering Republican to tell us that we need to be more sensitive on immigration. Tada! Out comes Connie Mack, Mark Rubio and, well, who’s running for reelection in New Mexico? Just dial 1-800-IMA-WHIMP.

Who do these morons think are invading the country?

The Left in this country has been profiling for thirty years. They profiled Robert Bork and Clarence Thomas; the feminists profiled Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann and Elizabeth Hasselbeck.

The Right has held itself to a stringent set of PC rules designed by Liberals for conservatives and that they change whenever the political winds shift to suit them.

These boys in San Francisco are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the Left’s attack on freedom of speech in this nation, and if the GOP and conservatives at large let them get away with it, it will soon be illegal to carry the Stars and Stripes.

Thirty years without profiling groups dangerous to the security of our nation gave us the 9-11 terrorists. Just how many WASPS do you think sign up for flying lessons and want to skip takeoff and landing? It has given us Fort Hood, and the Littlerock recruiter shootings.

It seems futile to pound this drum night after night, but we better damn well start profiling, and soon. Southern Baptist grandmothers in wheelchairs are not trying to destroy us. The Idaho Militia is not running drugs across our Southern borders.

Cinco de Mayo is NOT a holiday anywhere north of Juarez. So how is it that someone here on the good graces of the American people, in spite of their illegal status, can have an American flag thrown off campus?

Americans are paying the taxes to finance this nonsense and it is time for us to have a say in how those taxes are spent. Thousands are out of work in California alone and the City of Los Angeles employs 972,000 “informal workers.” Code for illegal aliens.

It is time for citizens to profile and target politicians and civil servants who defy the will of the people, and bring pressure to get them out.

Lindsey Graham and His Harebrained Biometric Card Scheme

Once again the corrupt and broken Washington establishment has decided to challenge the will of the people with amnesty legislation.

South Carolina RHINO Lindsey Graham and Democrat Charles Schumer are right now in the process of drafting immigration legislation that – if we can trust Graham to be true to form – could grant amnesty to millions of illegals and increase government intrusion into our lives.

We already know that any bill coming from a Graham-Schumer partnership is likely to include a “pathway to citizenship.” Which is code for “Come on in, may we get you a beverage and free health care?”

‘The first casualty of the Democratic health care bill will be immigration reform,” boasted Graham this week. Don’t you just love it when Lindsey gets butch?

The Senator has apparently come up with a meaningful solution to dealing with the 11 million-plus illegals currently residing on U.S. soil (Drum roll, please … ). Ta-dah! New high-tech Social Security cards! In other words a national ID card.

Great idea, Lindsey! Lets reregister the 300 million U.S. citizens who already have driver’s licenses and birth certificates and Social Security numbers with the new biometric ID card the Bush Administration tried to push on us after 9-11.

Silly me. I was thinking maybe we should just build a fence on the border, deny illegals employment, education, and social services; then levy steep fines and prison time to employers that hire them. That would leave us with … let’s see … three gardeners in La Puente.

This is yet another attack in Washington’s never-ending campaign to gather more information on its citizens and it is completely unnecessary. The vast tide of illegal immigration can be stemmed in short order if the U.S. Government has the will to do it. It takes a plan and a commitment to implement it. If Senator Graham wants a high-tech card he should make it the Green Card.

The plan to stop illegal immigration is simple:

1. Build a regular double hurricane fence from coast to coast and hire the people to patrol it. Expensive, you say? Not nearly as expensive as George W. Bush’s high-tech fence to nowhere that Obama just scotched.

2. Put in place severe fines and prison time for corporations and large employers who hire illegals. This is not about racial profiling. Mega agricultural corporations in the San Joaquin Valley of California and other industries across the country know who the illegals are. But so what if it does? We are not being invaded by Norway. Hispanic Americans, some of whom have a 250-year history in this country, shouldn’t mind.

3. Deploy armed National Guard troops and Predator drones on the borders. We are at war and our borders are vulnerable. Notify Mexican Narco traffickers and coyotes that if we identify them we will shoot them on sight, period. Then do it.

4. Cutoff all but immediate emergency medical attention, education, credit cards, bank accounts and housing. It has been a while since I’ve checked, but last year 15% of County of Los Angeles employees were illegal residents. Amend the Constitution to ban automatic citizenship.

5. Punish offenders with hard labor and escalating sentences for repeat offenders. One good place to start is building and maintaining the fence. I’m talking Joe Arpaio hard labor here.

6. Lastly, reestablish a new Bracero Program. This is the time to introduce a pathway to citizenship. Hispanics who come to the U.S. are by-and-large good hardworking people. They need jobs we can provide and we need them. But we must know whom we are hiring.

Senator Graham and other Republicans who continue to concoct these harebrained schemes and work with Democrats who want to change the fabric of our democracy must be sent a message. “Stop this nonsense if you want to keep your jobs.”
